What can I expect when I receive treatment?

After a friendly welcome at reception your Physiotherapist will perform a thorough assessment of your condition. You will be given a diagnosis and a recommended treatment plan. Treatment will then commence. Our treatments are hands on and based on evidence based research. You will also receive lifestyle advice and ideas on how you can self manage the condition.

How many treatments will I need?

There are a no set number of treatments as every individual and every condition is unique. You will be given a thorough examination and diagnosis and a treatment plan that is tailored for your individual needs.

Is there a waiting list for appointments?

We provide same day appointments for acute conditions.

How long are appointments?

Most appointments average 30 minutes

What should I wear?

Loose comfortable clothing that will allow access to the injured area, you may be asked to remove clothing if it is not possible to view the injured area e.g. – removing your top for a neck condition.

Should I bring medical notes and / or X-Rays?

Yes the Physiotherapist works within the medical team so it is important that all information is made available.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Physiotherapists are first contact practitioners so a referral is not necessary for treatment unless it is an insurance/work cover claim, Medicare care plan or you are covered by the Department of Veteran Affairs.

We accept Medicare referrals, Department of Veteran Affairs, Workcover and Compulsary Third Party claims.

What are your payment terms?

Payment is required at the completion of each consultation, either by EFTPOS, credit card, cheque or cash. Please contact us for an up to date list of charges.

Do you have private health fund claiming?

Yes – We have on the spot claiming through HICAPS so all you need to do is pay the gap.

What is Physio Pilates?

Physio Pilates is a unique, safe and effective form of exercise which is taught exclusively by Physiotherapists. It combines the fundamental principles of Pilates with the knowledge base of Physiotherapy. It is the safest and most effective from of Pilates.

Who benefits from Physio Pilates?

Absolutely everyone benefits from Pilates – Male and female. Pilates is a great addition to anyone’s fitness program. It is particularly effective if you have an injury, a history of injuries, if you have back / neck pain, postural problems, joint pain or if you are pregnant.

What do I wear to Pilates?

Wear stretchy comfortable clothing. All the exercises are done in bare feet. It is also a good idea to bring a towel and a water bottle.
