Matthew is an APA titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and Director at Active Life Physiotherapy. He graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Queensland in 1998 and completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy through La Trobe University in 2009. He is also a member of Sports Physiotherapy Australia.
Matt has lived in the Tweed region for the past 11 years. He has extensive private practice experience having worked locally as well as in the U.S.A. and U.K. He has worked with active people and athletes at all levels and ages, from local juniors and weekend warriors to national and international level. This experience provides him with the most up to date expertise in the management of aches and pains, not just in athletes but people of all ages. Matt currently works as a Clinical Supervisor with the University Centre for Rural Health in Murwillumbah supervising final year Physiotherapy students and has previously worked a guest lecturer on hip joint assessment and pathology with the Griffith University Physiotherapy program.
Matt has a keen interest in utilising Pilates and Exercise rehabilitation to achieve lasting outcomes for complex musculoskeletal conditions. He has also worked as a presenter for the Australian Physio Pilates Institute teaching the Pilates method to Physiotherapist’s.
