Women's Health Physiotherapy

 

Women's Health Physiotherapy relates to the management and treatment of conditions specifically affecting women through their life stages – from early adulthood, through the child bearing years, post menopause and into older age.  Our Women's Health Physio Jenny has undergone post graduate training to asesss and set up individualised treatment programs to help manage a range of conditions includings:

Incontinence

  • Urinary stress incontinence

  • Overactive bladder

  • Faecal and flatal incontinence

  • Nocturia

  • Urgency symptoms and urge incontinence

 

Pelvic Floor Discomfort

  • Dyspaerunia and pelvic pain

  • Pelvic organ Prolapse

  • Prevention and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction

 

Pregnancy Services

  • Lower back pain, postural and thoracic pain

  • Pubic symphysitis

  • Sacroiliac joint and pelvic girdle instability

  • Core stability programmes

  • Preparation for labour

 

Postnatal Services

  • Pelvic girdle pain and instability

  • Lower back, thoracic and neck pain

  • Recovery of perineal tears and episiotomies

  • Diastasis rectus abdominus muscle separation (DRAM)

Pre and Post Operative Physiotherapy

  • Exercise advice for well post menopausal women and women with osteoporosis

  • Pelvic floor programmes and advice pre and post gynaecological and gynae-oncological surgery (e.g. POP repair, hysterectomy)
